What's the award I get if my cover is chosen?

Gaspare will select one photograph from the entries, the photographer who created the photo receives $100 (one hundred United States dollars) license fee for use of the image. And of course a photo credit. Remember, the shoot theme is "Bringing Sexy Back", your pics can be a still life, portrait, self portrait, or a photo manipulation. Be as creative as you like, creativity always counts big with Gaspare.

What's the award I get if my cover is not chosen?

Gaspare loves photography. If you like, it's up to you to decide, Gaspare will post your photo with a photo credit and a link back to you portfolio on the Gaspare site. You are also invited to post your photo on Gaspare's FB page with a link back to your portfolio. And of course you can use your image in your portfolio if you like.

Do I get more chocolate if I enter?

We're seriously thinking about that. You will have to wait and see. No promises, but we think there's a good chance.

Do I have to be a pro of use a fancy camera?

Gaspare loves creative photography, which means using the cam in your phone or one of the new fancy boxes like the Red Scarlet (we didn't get paid for that mention however we love shiny new toys) or anything in between is great. And making tweaks in post is fine, do whatever feels the most creative to you.

What about the copyright to my image?

The photographer keeps the copyright. By submitting a photo the only right you give to Gaspare is to use the image commercially without any fees or other requirements. Gaspare feels strongly that photographers should keep their copyrights when submitting to competitions.

Where do I submit my pics and what format is accepted?

Easy peasy. Pics must be jpg or png format. Email the pics to the email address where you corresponded about the event, you know, the one where you were given the location for the chocolate pick-up. Please do not zip or compress, simply attach your images to the email.

What about model releases, do I need one if I win?

Yes. A model release is required for the winner. If it's a self portrait you sign the model release with your name, if it's a friend or professional model (or both) please have the person sign. Gaspare will contact competition winners and provide the release form which must be provided before the license fee is given to you.

Can this lead to a photography contract for me, can I get a freelance gig out of it?

Whether you shoot for the award or not you might just get Gaspare's attention for a gig with a good photo. Did I mention Gaspare loves great photography and creative ideas? Always feel free to submit a link to your portfolio and introduce yourself.

For this competition anyone over 16yo who can legally provide freelance photography services in the USA is eligible to win. Only two pics (cropped to 1000px wide x 520px high) are permitted per entrant. You must use your real name when submitting a photo.
