There's a good chance you grew up eating a non-artisanal version of these. Look closely at the pics, what do you see?
Correct. Gaspare uses amazing ingredients in mouth-pleasing proportions to bring you a Proustian moment with one of America's favorite snacks.
Remember the first time you kissed someone while you shared the chocolate and marshmallow goodness on each other's tongue, getting chocolate on your faces, savoring the the sweetness of the moment afterwards.
Curious about the name CanaJure, see the Curiosities tab, below.
Ingredients: Dark chocolate (cacao beans, cacao butter, pure cane sugar, soy lecithin, vanilla), graham cracker (organic unbleached wheat flour, organic whole wheat flour, organic evaporated cane juice, safflower oil, honey, molasses, sodium bicarbonate, ammonium bicarbonate, sea salt, cream of tartar), sugar, egg whites, glucose, heavy cream, trimoline, kolatin, butter, vanilla bean, pectin.
The north shore of Florianopolis (a Brazilian island in Santa Catarina state) has outrageously beautiful beaches and surfing. The island is both residential and a tourist destination. Surfers come to Mole Beach (on the eastern side, not the north shore) from all over, families come to vacation and supermodels glide in and out.
One north shore town, Canasveiras, attracts visitors from all over the world and particularly from Argentina. Adjoining Canasveiras is Canajure, a more residential area with handsome private homes and condos.
Locals refer to the beach area bridging Canasveiras and Canajure as CanaJure. It's a very international district, at dinner parties and cookouts you just might learn some trivia of another culture, for example these things Americans call s'mores.
Imagine being an American kid and introducing your Brazilian mates to s'mores after a day at the beach. I can almost taste the chocolate and mallow as if I were there as I write this message.
